Who is this for?

Effortless, Efficient Movement
Habits form for efficiency to react to a situation or accomplish repetitive tasks quickly. Habits can be related to moving, sensing, feeling or thinking. Sometimes these habits or patterns are no longer useful and may contribute to injuries. If we are aware of habits that are not useful, we can change them, by creating more efficient and effective patterns of moving, thinking, feeling and sensing. Changing a habit through movement is how the Feldenkrais® Method works.

Recovery from Injury
The Feldenkrais® Method is a safe, and effective method to recover from injury. It is complementary to other rehabilitation strategies and it is very different, because it is not ‘exercise’ and it is important stay in a comfortable range of motion, and if this is not possible, then imagining the movements can also be very effective. It is about learning HOW you move, and using your entire self to support movement, so that one area is working harder than another. Also, this method focuses on skeletal support and not overusing our muscular effort to achieve the intended function.

Self-Awareness
Awareness is an important aspect of the Feldenkrais Method. By paying attention to yourself, HOW you move, or HOW you learn, you will discover that ‘What you Focus on, Grows’. Pay attention to what you want to improve, and if you go slowly and gently, you will be surprised that with practice, you will move toward your goal.
